Icon About This Course

Exceptional lawyering requires more than legal knowledge and technical skill. It demands sound judgment, resilience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to navigate complex challenges with integrity and professionalism. Increasingly, research demonstrates that attorney well-being is not simply a personal concern; it is a professional asset that directly influences ethical decision-making, client representation, and long-term career success.

This engaging program explores the relationship between attorneys' well-being and the ethical obligations set forth in the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. Attendees will examine how chronic stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, anxiety, depression, and other forms of impairment can affect competence, diligence, professional judgment, communication, and supervision. Drawing upon legal ethics, psychology, neuroscience, and the science of human flourishing, the course provides practical, evidence-based strategies for strengthening resilience, improving decision-making under pressure, and cultivating habits that support both professional excellence and personal fulfillment.

Attorneys will leave with a deeper understanding of how investing in their own well-being enhances ethical practice, strengthens client service, supports effective leadership, and contributes to a more rewarding and sustainable legal career.

This program is ideal for attorneys at all stages of practice and across all practice areas.
