About This Course
This program equips prosecutors with practical, real-world strategies for preparing criminal cases from start to finish. Through early, organized case preparation, prosecutors reduce courtroom stress, avoid last-minute surprises, and increase success rates.
Attorneys will learn to evaluate cases from inception, perfect indictments, identify and manage evidence and witnesses, prepare for motions and trials, and organize comprehensive trial notebooks using proven methods and actual case files.
This course is ideal for new and early-career prosecutors—particularly those with less than 10 years of experience—who want to build confidence, sharpen their skills, and develop a strategic, step-by-step approach to case preparation and trial success. It is geared towards attorneys with little to some experience.
Learning Objectives:
- Evaluate the nuances of reading and perfecting indictments and accusations to ensure clerical and substantive legal accuracy.
- Develop the ability to conduct comprehensive legal research to substantiate or contest charges, with a firm understanding of the statutory requirements and relevant case law.
