About The Lecturer

My journey towards the Law started after graduating from Spelman College in 1991 and then moving on to attend Law School at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center in Davie Florida where I graduated in 1995. I have been practicing law for over 25 years. The majority of my practice has been as a Prosecutor for several offices in the Metro Atlanta Area to include: City of Atlanta Municipal Court, City of Atlanta Traffic Court, Fulton County D.A. and Solicitor's Office, Clayton County D.A. and Solicitor's  office and City of South Fulton.

I opened my Law Office in 2010 where I did criminal defense work and some civil work in the personal injury area for five years. During my defense practice I did Appellate work for the Georgia Public Defender's Standard Counsel. I taught Criminal Law for five years at Westwood and Bauder Colleges during my law career. The latter part of my legal years have focused more on training attorneys in prosecutorial offices where I trained on how to prepare and prosecute cases successfully along with developing  office training manuals to be used for onboarding new attorneys in the specific offices. I have provided these services within the last five years to: City of Atlanta Solicitor's Office and Clayton County Solicitor's Office. I also provided such training on the defense side to the Clayton County Public Defender's Office for their investigators.

I enjoy teaching and training and that is where I would like to continue my legal work. I currently work with the City of South Fulton as a part-time Solicitor while still maintaining my Law practice: Law Office of Dawn M. Belisle, P.C.
