Legal research and writing are critical skills for attorneys. Attorneys should attend this program to gain concrete skills and strategies for legal research and writing from an attorney with almost twenty years of experience in state and federal court, including appellate courts and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Attendees will learn: where to begin research, how to proceed, and when to end; basic electronic research strategies; how to use (and not use) AI to aid research; how to plan and commence writing; and how to write every part of a brief, from caption to signature.

This program is designed specifically for attorneys who wish to enhance their research and writing skills, particularly those who are newer to the field.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand where to begin research, how to proceed, and when to end.
  2. Explore basic electronic research strategies.
  3. Utilize AI to aid research and understand when it should and should not be used.
  4. Strategize for writing and commence writing.
  5. Examine how to write every part of a brief, from caption to signature.
