Icon About This Course

At the center of all an attorney’s work is the client. While law school teaches attorneys how to use legal reasoning and structure compelling arguments, it often fails to teach how to best communicate with clients. However, being an excellent communicator is critical to being a great counselor and advocating for clients.

This program will teach attendees how to appreciate client communications' apparent and non-apparent objectives and how best to format them. Develop strategies to communicate both the positive and the negative and understand when attorney-client privilege does and does not apply in this highly applicable and relevant course.

This course is perfect for all levels of attorneys seeking to refine their communication abilities and seasoned lawyers aiming to enhance their skills even further.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate what “client communication” means
  • Analyze apparent and non-apparent objectives of communication
  • Explore best practices in communicating with clients in multiple formats
  • Develop strategies for communicating the positive and the negative
  • Understand when your communication is protected and when it is not
