Reexamining Substance Abuse and Addiction in the Profession

About This Course
Just how problematic is lawyer substance abuse? Studies purport that lawyers abuse substances at least twice the rate of the general population and depressive episodes are twice as likely among female attorneys. Why might this be so? Learning to spot symptoms of drug abuse impairments early on should help the profession shift from a reactive to a proactive approach. The seminar also includes a review of case law addressing rules of ethics affecting addictions and mental debilitation.
