Georgia CLE Deadline: December 31
Georgia CLE Requirement: 18 credit hours every two years
*IMPORTANT CHANGES*
Beginning in 2026, Georgia’s CLE requirement will move to a biennial (instead of annual) CLE requirement with the required hours changing to 18 CLE hours, including 3 ethics hours and 2 professionalism hours every two years. The first biennial compliance period begins January 1, 2026, and ends December 31, 2027.
Going forward, the CLE compliance deadline will be December 31st of every odd year. That deadline applies to all active, non-exempt lawyers except for new lawyers participating in the Transition into Law Practice Program (TILPP).
The Trial hours requirement will also be eliminated for trial lawyers.
Georgia lawyers’ CLE requirement for 2025 remains 12 CLE hours including 1 ethics, 1 professionalism, with a deadline of March 31, 2026.
