About The Lecturer

David Sedlak is a tenured Assistant Professor in the Business Innovation and Technology department in the Zeigler College of Business at Commonwealth University - Bloomsburg. His course concentration includes Business Law, Negotiation and ADR techniques. As an attorney, he represented the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania through its Office of General Counsel for fifteen years, serving as counsel to the Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System.  There, Professor Sedlak negotiated multi-billion-dollar investment contracts as well as various procurement contracts.  In 2019, Professor Sedlak was named the first Director of Deferred Compensation and Defined Contribution, negotiating component contracts and shepherding a growing investment set that was set to become a staple of the system's retirement program.  Professor Sedlak is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.  In law school, Professor Sedlak served as Editor-in-Chief of the Penn State International Law Review and as Managing Editor of the Journal of American Arbitration, and has published articles in the ADR field.  He earned his Certification in Dispute Resolution and Advocacy along with his Juris Doctor from Penn State Dickinson.  Professor Sedlak also has post-secondary training in Education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania and Northeastern University in Massachusetts.
