About The Lecturer
Chuks Innocent Osagu is a dedicated legal professional with extensive expertise in data privacy, corporate law, and regulatory compliance. He currently serves as Legal Counsel to the Illinois State Senate, providing high-level guidance on labor and privacy legislations and shaping major policy reforms. With a strong background advising both governmental and private organizations, Chuks has led compliance programs, drafted international privacy contracts, and championed best practices in data protection.
Chuks holds Master of Laws degrees in Intellectual Property & Technology Law from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and in International Business Law from the University of Benin, Nigeria. He is licensed to practice law and in good standing in Missouri and Nigeria and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). Chuks is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape, South Africa where he is focusing his research on cutting-edge issues in privacy and regulatory laws.
