About The Lecturer

Colleen McKnight is the CEO and Founding Partner of McKnight Law PLLC, a boutique litigation and advisory firm headquartered in Houston, Texas, representing individuals, executives, and companies in high-stakes business disputes and strategic legal matters nationwide. Her practice spans industries including energy, oil and gas, media, healthcare, and hospitality, with a focus on protecting critical assets, resolving complex conflicts, and positioning clients to avoid litigation where possible.

With more than twelve years of trial and appellate experience, Ms. McKnight has represented clients in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution forums. She has first-chaired cases to verdict, secured significant settlements, and advised on transactions and operational issues involving multi-million-dollar assets. Her work in the oil and gas sector includes disputes over mineral rights, royalty payments, lease termination, surface use conflicts, and midstream transportation agreements.

Before founding her own firm, she practiced at large national law firms, where she gained extensive experience representing Fortune 500 companies and privately held businesses in complex commercial matters.

An engaging speaker and educator, Ms. McKnight frequently presents continuing legal education courses on business litigation, contract strategy, and industry-specific topics, including oil and gas law.
