About The Lecturer
Professor Reid brings exceptional practical experience to her academic role, having served as a trial attorney in the Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Section at the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of Florida. She began her legal career as a law clerk for Judge Charles R. Wilson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Prior to joining LMU Law in 2010, Professor Reid developed significant expertise in federal criminal prosecution, international narcotics trafficking, and national security matters. In recognition of her service, she received the Assistant Attorney General's Award for Distinguished Service as a Trial Attorney in the Narcotics and Dangerous Drug Section in 2010.
Her recent publications examine topics including the rule of lenity as a disruptor in criminal law, empathetic prosecution, privacy in transportation, criminal procedure in the age of artificial intelligence, international approaches to economic espionage, and police reform. She has published over 25 scholarly articles in journals including the Northwestern University’s Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, Santa Clara Law Review, SMU Law Review, West Virginia Law Review, and University of Miami Law Review.
