About The Lecturer
Jeffrey K. Van Etten has been practicing law since 1988 and became a Member of the predecessor firm to PVRK in 1992. Over the years he has successfully represented defendants in cases involving the New York State Labor Law, general liability, automobile and products liability, negligent security and both dental and medical malpractice matters. In addition to dozens of trials, Mr. Van Etten has also been involved in multiple appellate cases resulting in decisions that have been favorable to the defense bar.
Mr. Van Etten has frequently lectured on the New York State Labor Law, motor vehicle litigation, and dental and medical malpractice to multiple insurance carriers and professional groups. Among his more recent CLE courses, he participated as a Panel Member in a “Trial Skills/Techniques” program, over multiple days, as part of the joint DANY-New York County Lawyers Association and more recently lectured provided a skills training session for the Bronx Bar Association and the Supreme Court, Bronx County ADR Division on “MEDIATING A LABOR LAW CASE”.
Currently, Mr. Van Etten is on the Board of Directors for the Defense Association of New York (DANY); was recently invited to become and is a Member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA); and remains a member of the New York State and New York City Bar Associations; the New York County Lawyers Association; the Brooklyn Manhattan Trial Lawyers Association; and the Defense Research Institute.
