About The Lecturer
Elmira Yousufi is a San Diego-based criminal defense attorney with extensive experience handling post-conviction relief, expungements, and record clearance. Before transitioning to criminal defense, Elmira worked at the San Diego District Attorney’s Office, gaining valuable insight into how prosecutors evaluate post-conviction petitions and sentencing modifications.
Elmira earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine and her law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. In her criminal defense practice, she has successfully helped numerous clients reduce felony convictions to misdemeanors, obtain expungements, restore firearm rights, and secure early termination of probation.
While her practice encompasses all aspects of criminal defense, Elmira has handled a significant number of post-conviction petitions, achieving favorable results by crafting strong, evidence-based arguments and presenting compelling mitigation materials. Her experience in this area has also allowed her to assist clients facing immigration, employment, and family law challenges due to past convictions.
With a deep understanding of California’s post-conviction process, Elmira is committed to helping clients move forward by minimizing the long-term consequences of a criminal record.
