About The Lecturer

Erik W. Snipas is a partner in the firm’s Land Use & Zoning and Industrial Development Agency (IDA) Benefits & Government Incentives practice groups. Mr. Snipas concentrates his practice in the areas of land use, zoning, environmental, municipal, and real estate law. He has secured variances, change of use permits, special use permits, site plan approval, minor and major subdivisions, and other zoning approvals on behalf of real estate investment trusts (REIT), public companies, large corporations, real estate developers, restaurant owners, and residential property owners.

Mr. Snipas utilizes his extensive trial experience in representing clients in a variety of litigation matters, including Article 78 proceedings challenging the determinations of boards, and appears in district court on behalf of entities charged with code violations. He has also presented educational seminars on land use and zoning as part of Continued Legal Education seminars for the Nassau County Bar Association.

Prior to joining Forchelli Deegan Terrana LLP, Mr. Snipas served the people of Queens County as an Assistant District Attorney for the Queens District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure as an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Snipas was assigned to a violent felony trial bureau and specialized in illegal gun prosecutions. He prosecuted and tried numerous bench and jury trials to verdict for crimes such as murder, attempted murder, illegal gun possession, robbery, burglary, and drug possession.
