About The Lecturer

Claire is an attorney experienced in Veterans Disability appeals, passionate about training and mentorship, and committed to increasing equity and access to veterans benefits due in large part to her role as a military spouse. As an Associate Attorney at Berry Law Firm, Claire represents veterans and their families around the world, appealing denied VA disability compensation and related benefits. Her clients have called her their “biggest champion,” “compassionate,” and “pleasantly aggressive.”

After earning her Master of Science in Government Organization and Leadership (with a focus on administrative law) and Juris Doctor summa cum laude from Creighton Law School, Claire clerked for federal district judge Joseph F. Bataillon, then Chief Justice Michael G. Heavican of the Nebraska Supreme Court. Following her clerkships, she spent two years in an impact-litigation fellowship at a national nonprofit, where she also managed the legal-intern training program. She also spent several years as a program practicum advisor and adjunct law professor, training and mentoring law students in full-time externships in administrative practice. In 2020, Claire transitioned to her passion for helping veterans obtain the full benefits they deserve; first at VA’s Board of Veterans’ Appeals, and then at the Berry Law team.

Claire is a VA-accredited attorney and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. She is an active member of the DC Bar. In addition to actively practicing before VA and the Court of Appeals, Claire is a regular contributor to the Veterans Law Journal.
