About The Lecturer
Bert Greenwell has over 25 years of business and legal experience in the real estate industry. His approach is very service-oriented, focusing on prudent and sometimes unusual fixes to everyday and complex problems. He aims to find win/win solutions while safeguarding a client's legal position. Bert has served in a full spectrum of real estate forums, including a major telecommunication company, a senior-living REIT corporation, a New Jersey residential real estate developer, and both large and small firms in New York, New Jersey, and Kentucky. Having in-house legal experience has highlighted to Bert the need to anticipate solutions prior to problems being raised; however, when raised, to act quickly for resolution.
Bert currently serves as Of Counsel in the Real Estate Group within the New York office of Akerman LLP, where he focuses his practice on the representation of institutional lenders, equity firms, and companies in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, lending, and securitizations. Bert is licensed in the states of New Jersey and Kentucky.
