About The Lecturer

Victoria Cundiff has over 40 years experience in helping clients identify, protect, share and manage their information assets. She is the Chair of the Sedona Conference Working Group 12 on Trade Secrets Law, a non-profit, consensus-based research and educational institute and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where she teaches trade secrets law. She is also a Visiting Lecturer at Yale Law School, teaching intellectual property law, and a Fellow of Yale Law School’s Center for the Study of Corporate Law. She is a regularly invited guest at MIT’s Sloan School, discussing entrepreneurship and the role of trade secrets in fostering innovation and commercialization, as well as at a number of national law schools and private educational organizations. She chairs the Practising Law Institute’s Advanced Trade Secret Law Program, a role she has enjoyed since 2016. She is a co-author of the recently released Trade Secret Case Management Judicial Guide, published by the Federal Judicial Conference and has taught programs on trade secret law for WIPO and the USPTO and for the Federal Judicial Conference. She was a partner for more than 30 years at Paul Hastings, LLP, based in the firm’s New York office, where she advised and litigated intellectual property issues for clients including emerging companies, joint ventures, and global organizations active in a variety of industries. She has been recognized by Chambers, the Best Lawyers in America, Superlawyers, and similar guides for many years, and in WIPR’s Inaugural Global Trade Secrets Rankings and has been named to the Law500 “Hall of Fame,” all in accordance with the terms of each organization. She has contributed to amicus curiae briefs filed in the United States Supreme Court on copyright and intellectual property licensing issues.

Ms. Cundiff is a Member of the American Law Institute, serving as an Adviser on the Restatement, Third, Conflict of Laws. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s 2000 member Intellectual Property Section and is the past Chair of that section.

Ms. Cundiff serves on the board of the United States Senate Youth Program Alumni Association, chairing its Scholarship Committee, and provides legal support to, among other organizations, Open Style Lab, a 501(c)(3) organization making style accessible to people of all abilities.
