About The Lecturer

LaCee Conley is an international intellectual property attorney specializing in neuroscience, pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical patent applications. She is also an adjunct professor of law at Drake. She is the 2018 recipient of the Community Achievement Award from the Des Moines Downtown Chamber of Commerce and a 2019 nominee for the Ivy Women in Business Award. She currently sits as a Board Member for Ballet Des Moines, serves as an Officer of the Board for the International Inns of Mediation as well as a city Commissioner for the City of Waukee after serving on the Board of Appeals for the city, and is a member of the Advisory Council for the Leadership, Education & Advancement Pipeline. Conley regularly presents for The Iowa State Bar Association regarding technology in the legal field. She also writes for IPWatchdog.com—an intellectual property publication with over 1.6 million subscribers. She is also currently a staff writer for Simply Stogies—a large publication about cigars and cigar lounges.
