About The Lecturer

Matthew Murrell is an Austin-based attorney who has litigated complex commercial cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, frequently focusing on technology-related issues, including trade secrets, telecommunications, and security. Matthew’s long history with written and oral advocacy—both as a high school and college debater, and as a high school teacher for six years before he went to law school—help him drill down to the details that matter. Matthew sits on the Council for the Computer & Technology Section of the State Bar of Texas and enjoys combining his previous career as an educator with his knowledge of technology and the law to help his colleagues better understand the myriad benefits and risks technology brings to the practice of law.
