North Carolina CLE Requirement
Total CLE Requirement:
12 credit hours annually
Credit Format:
All credits may be completed online.
Credit Breakdown:
12 CLE hours
At least 2 hours of Ethics/Professionalism
At least 1 hour in technology training
At least 1 hour of Substance Abuse or debilitating mental conditions every three years
Compliance Deadline:
December 31
Reporting Deadline:
February 28
TRTCLE reports each month of North Carolina attendance at the start of the following month, but please be aware that attorneys are still responsible for the $3.50 reporting fee per credit.
Reporting Information:
TRTCLE reports all credits to the North Carolina State Bar Continuing Legal Education Board.
Newly Admitted Requirement:
New admittees must complete the North Carolina State Bar’s “Professionalism for New Admittees” program during the year of their first CLE requirement.
