Understanding the Indiana CLE Requirement

Total CLE Requirement:

36 credit hours every three years (minimum 6 credit hours per year)

Credit Format:

As of June 6, 2022, all credits may be completed through online, on-demand courses. There is no longer a limit on distance education.

Credit Breakdown:

33 hours General
At least 3 hours in Professional Responsibility/Ethics

Compliance Deadline:

December 31

December 31

Reporting Information:

TRTCLE reports to the Indiana Office of Admissions & Continuing Education every two weeks.

Newly Admitted Requirement:

New admittees must complete an approved six-hour “Applied Professionalism” program instead of the ethics requirement during their first three-year cycle.
