Understanding the Wisconsin CLE Requirement

Total CLE Requirement:

30 credit hours every two years

Credit Format:

*COVID Update: Odd-year reporters (2020-2021 cycle) may claim up to 30 credits from "on-demand" programs. However, the mandatory three (3) legal ethics and professional responsibility credits (EPR) must be completed with live, online programming, or with in-person courses.

Reporting Information:

Attorneys are required to electronically file their CLE report using the CLE reporting website. Go to the CLE reporting website to electronically file. https://clereporting.wicourts.gov/session/new

Newly Admitted Requirement:

New attorneys are exempt from the CLE requirement during the first year of their admission.
