About The Lecturer
Justin M. Jacobson, Esq. is an entertainment, esports and video game attorney specializing in intellectual property and business law located in New York City. For over a decade, he has worked with professional athletes, musicians, producers, DJs, record labels, fashion designers as well as professional gamers, streamers, content creators, coaches, on-air broadcasters, esports organizations, and other business and individuals in the entertainment, sports, music, esports, gaming, art, and fashion industries. He assists influencers and businesses with contracts, copyrights, trademarks, immigration and visas, corporate formalities, licensing, litigation, and other related business and legal matters.
Justin is an Adjunct Professor at University of North Carolina Wilmington, Post University in Connecticut, Harrisburg University, and CUNY Hunter College. He has authored “The Essential Guide to the Business & Law of Esports & Professional Video Gaming” and is on the Board of Directors for non-profits Coalition of Parents in Esports (COPE) and Garden State Esports. Justin is a member of the Esports Research Network, an Industry Board Advisor for the International Esports Journal, and a Legal Advisor for the non-profit gaming organization, UKnightedXP.
Admitted to the New York State Bar in 2012, a member of the American Bar Association, Justin is also a member of the Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Earning his law degree from Touro Law Center in New York in 2011, Justin was on the Touro Law Review and served twice as President of the Touro Arts, Entertainment, and Sports Law Society. Justin earned his B.A. in Sociology from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
