Understanding the Kansas CLE Requirement
Total CLE Requirement:
12 credit hours annually
Credit Format:
*6 hours must be taken live
*6 may be completed online
Credit Breakdown:
10 hours General
At least 2 hours Ethics/Professionalism
Compliance Deadline:
June 30

*COVID-19 Temporary Change: The following Kansas Supreme Court Rules are modified as follows for the 2020-2021 compliance periods:
Rule 806(j). The credit hour limitation on prerecorded programming is waived for the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 compliance periods. Prerecorded programs must still meet the guidelines required for accreditation.
Newly Admitted Requirement:
New attorneys are exempt from CLE requirements during the first compliance period of their admission.
