Conflicts of Interest in the Practice of Law
About This Course
When representing a client, attorneys are held to very high expectations of professionalism in order to uphold an appropriate attorney-client relationship. Failure to exercise such professionalism, whether in terms of not receiving informed consent or rendering inappropriate advice, will result in violations of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. This seminar specifically explores ABA Model Rules 1.8, 1.12, and 2.1 by analyzing the ethical implications of these rules throughout four cases: In re Bowen, In re Maurer, In re Andry, and Board of Overseers of the Bar v. Prolman.
