About The Lecturer
Beatriz Martinez-Penalver is a licensed psychotherapist, speaker, and retreat facilitator with over thirty years of experience in the mental health field. Passionate about decreasing the progression of our current mental health crisis, she is the Founder and CEO of Triumph Steps, a
transformative program in emotional literacy and mental wellness for children and adults, and the Co-founder of Healthy Connections, a Miami-based mental health center established in 2001 and named best mental health center in Miami-Dade in 2023 and 2024.
Before opening Healthy Connections, Beatriz ran a private practice where she led her patients to self-discovery and personal growth using positive psychology, cognitive-behavioral approaches, and meditation.
Science tells us that happiness is a skill that can be learned, and Beatriz has developed an eight-step framework with practical tools that empower individuals to connect with their potential, fostering resilience, happiness, and purpose. Triumph Steps is widely embraced in schools, mental health centers, and professional settings for its ability to foster mental clarity and emotional strength.
Beatriz’s courses are approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling, as well as for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) by the Florida Bar Association.
She is the author of Triumph: A Curriculum for All Schools and Universities and has been featured on NBC, CBS, PBS, Univision Radio, Hay House Radio, and more.
