About The Lecturer

Andrea McGinn is co-founder of The Law Shop by Skogerson McGinn LLC, an unbundled legal services law firm out of Van Meter, Iowa. She practices mainly in family and child welfare law. She is a mother of two boys, Chair of the Iowa State Bar Association Family and Juvenile Law Section, Secretary of Iowa Collaborative Divorce, member of the Iowa Association for Justice, member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, appointed team member of the Iowa Domestic Violence Death Review Team, Iowa Child Protection Council appointed member and participates in other professional and community-based organizations. 

Andrea and Law Shop co-founder, Amy Skogerson, regularly present on unbundled legal services and have done so on a local, regional, national and even international scale presenting for organizations such as American Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP). They also train attorneys and their staff from around the world through regular workshops and coaching sessions focused on incorporating unbundled legal services into law firms. Andi and AJ recently authored a Chapter in the ABA Book entitled, “Design Your Law Practice, Using Design Thinking to Get Next Level Results.”

Andrea and Amy have been featured in the American Bar Association Journal, The Iowa Lawyer Magazine, Illinois Bar Association publications, and Iowa Public Radio. Links to these publications can be found here.
