If you’re a lawyer who wants either a primer or a refresher course on basic employment legal issues, this is the MCLE course for you. In addition, if you’re an attorney who has clients who have cancer, this MCLE webinar will help you be attuned to your clients and help you both spot issues and make more effective referrals to an employment lawyer. Learn the basics of employment law with respect to medical leave, antidiscrimination and reasonable accommodation; how your clients can get reasonable accommodations at work and options for taking time off under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) for patients and caretakers; the federal laws that protect cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers in the workplace; additional legal protections available under state law; and the necessary steps to properly file an employment unlawful discrimination lawsuit.
Attorneys who represent cancer patients, as well as employment law attorneys of all experience levels, should attend this program.
