Icon About This Course

In this course, trial attorney Christopher O’Donnell describes the ethical obligations of attorneys and the consequences of misconduct.

Mr. O’Donnell analyzes work-life balance conflicts, which many times require that attorneys mortgage their own needs for the demands of their jobs. These contentions, which have only worsened since the recent pandemic, often lead to burnout and can increase vulnerability to ethical pitfalls and misconduct. Using his own legal expertise in the area of personal injury litigation, Mr. O’Donnell carefully outlines ABA Model Rules 8.4 and 3.8, which cover misconduct and the special responsibilities of prosecutors, respectively.

In this course, Mr. O’Donnell shares his experiences with misconduct and unprofessionalism in exchanges with his peers and also examines court cases that exemplify breaches of these ABA Model Rules. This course offers invaluable insights and information for attorneys of any level and practice area.
