Confidentiality is an essential part of being an attorney. From client confidence to maintaining privilege, numerous ethical concerns arise for attorneys each day.
Ethics rules are always about conflicts and confidences. Sometimes they are about BOTH. What happens when an attorney’s self-interest or moral obligations come up against the rules regarding confidentiality? This course attempts to guide the resolution of these issues by examining the regulations and relevant ethical cases surrounding these topics.
Any attorney can benefit from this course because every attorney deals with maintaining confidentiality and resolving conflicts.

- Explore relevant Model Rules – 8.4 and 1.6
- Examine cases involving different forms of conflict of interest
- Evaluate the differences between self-interest and conflicts
- Resolve differences between self-interest and confidentiality
