AboutAbout This Course

This seminar presents lecture materials to guide participants on an interactive intellectual journey into the evolution of modern standards of ethics governing sexual conduct by lawyers, sexual relations between lawyers and clients or former clients and also gender issues. A fortiori, this seminar includes sexually-explicit information. Thus far, there is no nationwide, one-size-fits- all standard. Some states have adopted the ABA Model Rule 1.8(j), some have modified it in a variety of ways, some have adopted broader rules, and some thus far have not adopted any Rule pertaining particularly or exclusively to such issues. What will ultimately evolve as the most-widely used standards remains unknown, but the policy issues warrant important and interactive discussions and analyses, which will be covered during this compelling seminar.
