Elderly clients require an extra degree of care. With the incidents of Alzheimer's and dementia increasing, the elderly stand as being particularly vulnerable to financial, emotional and physical abuse. This course explores the issues of legal capacity and the elderly client, how to protect them from abuse and when it is required to report elder abuse. Special attention is given to Oregon law which makes attorneys mandatory reporters.
